Kara Mann Designed Goop Pop Up Shop

Girls like me love @goop so I was very excited to interface with them while our client @karamanndesign designed the interiors for the newest #goop pop up shop in #Chicago. For those of you who have an appreciation for design, Kara Mann, (who is also doing a redesign for The Chelsea Hotel in NYC), is so very talented. I love her work and really particularly love how this space turned out. Chicago friends go shop the pop up!!

See what ELLE Decor had to say below:

Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle site goop strives to bring its readers the best in everything from food and shopping to mindful living, and now Chicago fans of the site can shop Paltrow’s picks in person. The goop pop up shop at the Waldorf Astoria is open to the public from April 25 until May 10, giving Chicagoans the chance to browse select goop-approved pieces from brands such as Heather Taylor Home, 3.1 Philip Lim and Stella McCartney. The pop up shop itself is as stylish as the curated pieces within its walls, as Kara Mann designed the space to reflect goop’s dedication to living your best life.

“Goop is about home and quality of life, so I wanted to communicate that in my design of the space,” Mann said. “Our intention was to make it feel like you were walking into a chic friend’s apartment. It is architecturally soft and elegant but with earthier, edgier furnishings, and we used a soft palette of smoky grays and then highlighted with subtle smoky pinks in a nod to Gwyneth.”

Mann also focused on bringing an aspect of the Windy City into the shop, by highlighting work from 1stdibs vendors in the area. “It was cool to get our hands on local resources to make the space both goop centric and Chicago centric,” she said.

Fans outside of the Chicago area can also shop goop-approved pieces on 1stdibs.com. Take a look at Mann’s finished design and get a peek at some of the items available for purchase in the photos below.
